Our Process

Overview of our process

Our refinishing program includes the following processes, which we believe offer a superior final product.

Incoming Inspection
We perform an incoming inspection for any surface damage, unrepairable plastic, fiberglass/composite components, and any discrepancies that would affect the final outcome.

Control Surfaces
We remove all of the control surfaces for individual attention and handling.

Paint Stripping
We protect your aircraft windows, door gaps, cowling gaps, and plastic components against chemical remover using aluminum tape and aluminum masking products. This process is performed using an environmentally safe chemical remover and followed up by a neutralization wash.

Second Inspection
After paint is removed, aircraft will be inspected for any discrepancies that were unknown and might affect the final quality.

Conversion Coating
Aircraft skin will be treated using an acid-etch and alodine process. This will improve the corrosion resistance and improve the adhesion of the paint to the airframe. This is truly the best way to clean and protect the aluminum before primer is applied.

Painting
The entire aircraft will be solvent wiped to assure a contaminant free surface before priming. Complete airframe exterior and all individual components primed using Jet Glo Corrosion Protective Epoxy Primer and painted using Jet Glo Polyurethane topcoat in your preferred base color.

Stripe Design
All trim stripes are laid out in the design of your choice. Any areas that will receive trim color are prepared to ensure good adhesion. Stripe colors are clear coated for extra durability and fade resistance.

Flight Control Surfaces
Static balance checked on control surfaces by an A&P Mechanic to ensure compliance with aircraft manufacturers specifications. Control surfaces will be reinstalled and checked for proper operation.

Final Detailing
Your aircraft exterior will be completely detailed with the highest quality.

Paint Options

Replace Door Seals
Now is an excellent time to install new door seals. We will remove old seals, paint to match interior or exterior, and install new seals after new paint is applied.

Custom Airbrushing or Artwork
We can airbrush anything on your aircraft from your name to a wilderness scene or add your company logo.

Hi-Build Primer
A two-part high build primer will be applied to the tops and sides of aircraft to smooth flush rivets and any skin irregularities.

Painting Interior of Cowling
This gives a very neat and clean appearance to the inside cowling. Cowling will be cleaned, primed, and painted in your choice of color.

Stainless Steel Cowling & Trim Kits
These screws are a great way to preserve your new paint during annual inspections. All removable panels and cowlings will be installed with new stainless hardware after paint is completed.

Rechrome or Polishing
We can rechrome parts or polish unpolished aluminum.

New Plastic or Fiberglass Components
We will install new parts or can repair existing parts.

Rubber Moldings
Wing gap seals and other rubber moldings are removed before painting. New seals are installed after painting for a clean professional appearance.

Protective Masks
Clear protective masks can be applied to radomes and leading edges to protect paint against erosion.

Polish Windows
Small scratches can be removed from windows and clarity improved by polishing.

Window Sealing
Windows will be trimmed with 1/4 inch bead of pro-seal to seal windows.

Hail Damage Repair
We can repair hail dents and reskin control surfaces before paint.
